Anamika Khanna is an Indian fashion designer with her own label. She has been covered by the Business of Fashion (BOF) magazine as the Indian designer who has blended traditional Indian textiles and techniques with Western silhouette and tailoring. Anamika was listed in the BOF elite list of 500 people shaping the global fashion industry. She is the first Indian designer to have an International label: Anamika. Following closely on the heels of the success of her show at the Lakme India Fashion Week Grand Finale 2004 was an overwhelming response at the London Fashion Week 2005. This was followed with an exclusive contract with British major, Harrod’s and coverage in magazines like Glamour (Paris), Vogue (October 2005, U.K), and Vogue Best Buy. The year 2007 came with an invitation to showcase the brand at the Paris Fashion Week, the first for any Indian designer.
Ana mika was offered an exclusive contract by British Retail Giant Harrod’s after her participation in the London Fashion Week, 2010.
Her major achievements include an induction into the Damania Fashion Hall of Fame, India Today Most Powerful 25 and most recent being, Hello magazine ‘The Designer of the Year 2016’ .
Wanting to give back to society, Anamika helped raise funds for the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata, India expansion for a world class hospital helping under privileged cancer patients. The Akshay Patra Foundation received huge support through fundraisers where the involvement was in spirit of malnutrition in children. She has recently been nominated for the Swacch Bharat Campaign.
