Former Solicitor General of India
Harish Salve is a Senior Advocate in India and a Barrister in London. He was called to join Grays Inn in 2013 and is a permanent tenant at Blackstone Chambers, London.
Mr Salve was conferred with Padma Bhushan (the third Highest Civilian Award in India) in 2015. He was the Solicitor General of India between 1999 and 2002. He specializes in commercial laws, taxation, constitutional and administrative law.
Mr Salve has appeared as Counsel in a number of International Arbitrations since 1986. He is currently a Lead counsel in five ongoing Bilateral Investment Treaty Arbitrations [two for Malaysian Clients]. He has also represented India before the International Court of Justice.
Mr Salve also sits as an arbitrator in ad hoc arbitrations and arbitrations governed under the rules of LCIA, SIAC and ICC.
Mr Salve is a member of the Singapore International Commercial Courts Committee appointed by the Singapore Government in May 2013; Member of the Court of Arbitration of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre; Member of the London Court of International Arbitration and a member of the Permanent Court of International Arbitration [nominated by India].
