CEO, Barefoot College International
Responsible for leading Barefoot College International, Meagan Fallone is currently steering the Global footprint of the Barefoot College expansion to 82 countries in the Global South, through the establishment of Barefoot College Women’s Vocational Training Centers in Sub Saharan Africa, Latin America, SE Asia and the Pacific. A successful for-profit entrepreneur, designer and world class mountaineer, Meagan is revitalizing the ecosystem of a 44 year old, value-driven NGO, to one where social innovation can thrive, impact is in focus and calculated risk-taking is encouraged. Her Indian based team of Barefoot Innovators have developed and deployed a digital M&E platform to track QoL, empowerment, financial and sustainability impact within the program. 2015 saw launch of the ENRICHE curriculum designed with and for Illiterate and semi-literate rural women, to play leadership roles within their communities. She and her team have successfully crafted partnerships with UN Women, UNESCO, UNDP and many large philanthropic foundations.
Meagan Fallone holds a BA from Yale University, USA and an MFA from UCL, UK. She is a member of the Geneva Committee of Human Rights Watch and is a Board Member of Public Interest Registry (NGO advisory council) and Global Diversity Leadership Exchange.
