Sabaleel Nandy is the Vice President Manufacturing at Tata Chemicals North America and currently heads the soda ash manufacturing facility at Green River Wyoming. Tata Chemicals is the world’s 2nd largest producer of soda ash.
An engineer from IIT Kharagpur, Sabaleel joined the TAS (Tata Administrative Services) in 2001 after completing MBA from IIM Lucknow. His earlier roles have included head of manufacturing at Haldia in India, head of corporate strategy, corporate quality, and member of the Board of Directors of the Casablanca based Joint Venture between Tatas, Chambal and OCP, called IMACID.
He led the team that launched the Tata Swach brand of household water purifiers in Dec 2009. As General Manager, water purifier business, Sabaleel was responsible for end-to-end operations.
Before Tata Chemicals, he served as a key member of the Group Executive office at Tata Sons, with responsibilities that included strategic evaluations of new business forays, strategic M&A related projects and projects related to post acquisition integration of companies.
Apart from Tata Chemicals & Tata Sons, Sabaleel also spent close to 5 years with Tata Motors in the passenger car division, where he headed sales for the largest region in India and also led the brand management team for one of the car brands.
Sabaleel is passionate about innovation and has over 15 years of experience in diverse fields across sales & marketing, manufacturing & strategy. He was featured in 2014 as one of the 25 “Hottest Young Executives under 40” by the Business Today magazine.
