Shirish Sankhe is a Director in the Mumbai office of McKinsey & Company. He joined McKinsey & Company in 1996. He is the leader of Public Sector and Infrastructure Practice in India. Dr. Sankhe recently led the team that published the report on India’s urbanization “India’s urban awakening: Building inclusive cities, sustaining economic growth”. This report was presented to the Prime Minister and his cabinet. He also worked on the design of the next generation JNNURM with the Planning Commission. In 2000-01, he led the team that presented to the Prime Minister and India policy-maker how India can achieve 10% GDP growth. Dr. Sankhe is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Bombay (UDCT).
