Vivek Anand Oberoi was born on September 3 ‘1976 in Hyderabad, India. It was after Vivek’s first performance as a six year old in a school play that he realized all he wanted to be was an actor. It was in 2002 that Vivek Oberoi made his debut in the Ram Gopal Varma film Company, a critically acclaimed box office film. For Company, Vivek won 2 Filmfare awards for Best Debut and Best Supporting actor in addition to 5 other mainstream awards from several prestigious award ceremonies. Not too long after his debut film, Vivek was in the limelight again with the hit film Saathiya, a romantic drama that proved his versatility as an actor and saw his fan base grow, particularly attracting fans outside of India.
Vivek’s role as Maya Dolas in Shootout at Lokhandwala in 2007 saw Vivek receive accolades similar to that in Company for another powerful antagonistic performance. He has diligently proved himself to be a fine actor with his iconic roles in Road, Yuva, Omkara and Krrish 3 for which he has also won numerous awards.
Off-screen, Vivek is just as passionate about helping the less fortunate and being a good role model for his younger fans. For his social work and contribution to society, in 2010 Vivek was bestowed with the Sailors Today Award as well as the prestigious IIFA Global Green Award. Vivek aims to be a global ambassador of peace, leveraging his popularity and fame to build bridges between people, create trust, goodwill and harmony amongst a united world with united people.
Vivek the actorpreneur has been nursing an entrepreneurial streak since he was a child, the plunge into entrepreneurship was only a natural progression of things. In 2012, he entered the construction business with Raghuleela Infrastructure, which is now developing a luxury township and a theme-based resort in Gujarat. In September 2016, he launched Karrm Infrastructure, entering the affordable-housing segment in Maharashtra.
On October 29, 2010, Vivek Oberoi married the love of his life, Priyanka Alva, daughter of the late Jeevraj Alva and Nandini Alva. Together they have two children – a son, Vivaan Veer and a daughter, Ameyaa Nirvana.
