Abhay brings the right brain elements to table as the co-founder at Licious. Along with his longtime friend Vivek, the duo is building Licious which is one of India’s most disruptive consumer brands.
With 70% of its population consuming meat, India consumes about $40 Bn worth meat/seafood annually. In spite of this, it’s ironic that India is seen as a vegetarian country. More than 92% of consumption is driven through the unorganised wet market that’s completely devoid of any food safety/hygiene standards. In the prevailing unorganized and chaotic state of affairs, Licious is creating a new way of life for the hitherto neglected stakeholders in the meat ecosystem in India. A full stack consumer brand powered by technology, under Abhay’s leadership Licious is creating a differentiated brand positioning supplemented by unique supply chain capabilities leading to unmatched product quality standards resulting in unparalleled consumer experience and brand stickiness.
At Licious, Abhay’s leads operations, brand strategy, quality assurance and product innovation given his passion for people, process excellence, brand building and his love for food.
In just 2 years Licious has grown exponentially and has served over a million packs of fresh world-class meat products to consumers in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and NCR. The brand has built a cult following with 90% of their business consistently coming from repeat customers.
It was this unrelenting passion that made him give up a thriving career at Futurisk where he last served as a Senior Vice President.
