Siddharth Yog is a member of the finance unit at Harvard Business School and has taught second year courses on Real Property Asset Management and Investing in Emerging Markets.
Sid is also Founder and Chairman of the Management Committee of The Xander Group Inc., an emerging markets focused investment firm, headquartered in Singapore. He has overseen all phases of the firm’s development since its founding in 2005. Xander Investment Management, the firm’s private equity real estate arm has raised over US$ 2.7 Billion of institutional capital and acquired and/or developed over 70 Million sqft of real estate across all major asset classes. Virtuous Retail, a fully owned subsidiary was set up in 2007 as an institutional shopping center developer/operator, and Virtuous Retail South Asia, its US$ 750 Million JV with a leading European pension fund, currently owns and operates ~ 6 million square feet of branded, community focused, new age shopping centers in major Indian cities. Xander Finance, the firm’s credit platform was set up in 2010 and is today one of the largest, foreign owned and licensed, non-bank finance companies in India, specializing in asset backed, senior-secured, real estate and corporate loans.
As Chair of Yuj Kutumb, the Yog Family Foundation, Sid also oversees Yuj Ventures, an investment platform focused on early stage investing in emerging industries and technologies and seeding new managers, in both developed and developing markets. Current portfolio includes digital media firms, prop-tech, new entertainment formats, co living and co working platforms, bio metric applications, clean energy, disruptive initiatives in traditional industries, and new investment managers, in Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, Israel, Hong Kong and the US.
Sid is a member of the President’s Global Advisory Council at Harvard University and Co-founder, Trustee and Member of the Governing body of the liberal arts focused Ashoka University ,in India. He is a Trustee of the A.R.T. – The American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA, and Member of the India Advisory Council at Lincoln Center in New York. Sid received an MBA from the Harvard Business School with highest distinction and was elected a George F. Baker Scholar. He was also elected President of his Harvard Business School Class. Earlier he earned an Honors degree in Economics from the University of Delhi and was elected head of the Students Union.
