Shiv Vikram Khemka is Vice Chairman of SUN Group, a leading private investor across various industries including gold mining, oil & gas, renewable energy, electric mobility, infrastructure, and high technology, operating globally with key interests in India, Russia, and West Africa.
SUN Group has also been a leading principal investor and private equity fund manager in emerging and transforming markets. The group deploys capital as a direct principal investor, often with strategic partners, and as a private equity fund manager, often in partnership with other global firms. This includes the creation of focused fund franchises in SUN’s core markets, including joint ventures with Apollo Real Estate Advisors (AREA), Sequoia Capital and others.
Shiv serves on the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School; the Board of Governors of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and the President’s Leadership Council at Brown University. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Centre for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) at UPenn, and on the President’s Council on International Affairs at Yale University.
He is Chairman of The Global Education & Leadership Foundation, (an education initiative of the Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation), committed to identifying, nurturing and supporting ethical and altruistic young leaders.
Shiv serves on the Asia Society Policy Institute Council, Brookings India Initiative Founders Circle and sits on the board of Centre for Universal Education at the Brookings Institute as well as the board of the Skolkovo School of Management.
Shiv graduated from Brown University with a BA in Economics and received his MBA from the Wharton School and a Master’s Degree from the Lauder Institute.
