Raju Venkataraman

Founder Chairman, Medall Health Care Pvt. Ltd.

Raju Venkatraman, a successful Serial Entrepreneur, is the Founder Chairman of Medall Health Care Pvt. Ltd. Medall has become the 4th largest diagnostics services company in India in less than 9 years. Before Medall, Raju founded Sherpa Business Solutions in USA in 2002, relocated to India and acquired RevIT in India to provide IT/ITeS services to the healthcare industry. RevIT was acquired by ICICI OneSource Solutions (promoted by ICICI Bank, India) and was renamed as FirstSource Solutions. Raju served as President, COO and Joint Managing Director at FirstSource. At EDS, USA between 1985-1991, Raju managed the systems development group for Integrated image management. Later he joined HiTech Consultants, bought it subsequently and renamed it as Vetri Systems. After selling Vetri Systems to Lason Inc, Raju was made responsible for Operations in China, India, Mauritius, Barbados, Mexico, USA. After graduating from IIT Madras in 1981, Raju’s first job was with Cadbury India Pvt Ltd. also known as Hindustan Cocoa. There, he started as a Management trainee and subsequently became the head of production planning and control. Raju has held board positions at Polaris Consulting & Services Limited, American International School, Chennai and Prodapt Solutions Private Limited. He is also a trustee of IIT madras Alumnus fund, member of IIT Madras Incubation Center and member of Ganapathy Iyer Girls High School. Raju was the President of Madras Management Association, Chennai. He was a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organisation) in Detroit, USA in 1997 and continues to be a member of YPOChennai Chapter now. He is also on the Boston University India Advisory Council. Raju has received several awards such as Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) from IIT Madras, Doctor of Letters for his brilliant entrepreneurship and excellence in international trade, the Serial Entrepreneur Award by TIE Chennai and TN government, American Dreamers Award by Crain’s Magazine, Top 75 entrepreneurs from India in USA by Indian Abroad and many more. Although Raju’s hobbies include playing and promoting basketball, he enjoys supporting social causes, mentoring entrepreneurs, developing talent in not so privileged children, travelling to exotic places around the world, and appreciating Indian classical and old evergreen Bollywood music.
