Founder of Bachpan Banao
Pranith founded Bachpan Banao in 2012 with the vision to create just, equal, free and harmonious society. Bachpan Banao has been working in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh which is known for its rich tribal culture and biodiversity. As a founder and executive director, he is responsible for empowering parents, community members, teachers, and education functionaries. As a strategic partner to the administration, he played a key role in designing programs like Padhe Dantewada-likhe Dantewada, Choolo Asman, Shiksha Samarthan, Ujar-100 to successfully improve learning outcomes in the distict. Pranith’s journey started when he was studying BS-MS at Indian institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. During the course, he cofounded Disha, a student-run organization that conducted evening learning centers in nearby slums. Disha was important milestone in his journey. It helped him discover his passion for education ultimately forcing him to drop out of college to start working with community. Going further in this educational quest, he started two alternative schools ‘Sapno ki shala’,Chhattisgarh- school for tribal children and ‘Samata School’, Kurnool (AP)- a school for urban privileged children. Both schools are democratic learning centers where children are responsible for their own learning.
