Krishna D. Rao is Associate Professor in the Health Systems Program, Department of International Health, Johns Hopkins University. He is also consultant Research Advisor, National Health Systems Resource Center, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. His research interests include - health systems, primary health care, human resources for health, healthcare financing, and economic evaluation. His research work has included studies on incentives for attracting health workers to underserved areas, measuring quality of care, the effect of health care payments on poverty, and cost-effective analysis. He teaches two graduate courses at Johns Hopkins– Health and Economic Development, and Financing Health Care for Universal Health Coverage. Previously, Krishna worked at the Public Health Foundation of India. Krishna Rao’s education includes a PhD in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
